MY PET HAS HAD A TRAUMATIZING PAST GROOMING EXPERIENCE, WHAT DO YOU OFFER TO HELP MY PET OVERCOME HIS FEARS?
Grooming is not in our pet's nature. Pets can have a negative experience if introduced to grooming improperly. I will never push your pet to complete a service, I have been trained to watch for signs of stress in dogs and if your pet seems to be stressed by the grooming procedures you will be contacted immediately for a prompt pick up of your pet and we can always try again another day. Some sessions could take a few visits to complete in severely traumatized pets, my goal is not to make your pet love grooming, but instead to understand that grooming is ok and that they can trust me enough to be "okay" with the idea of being groomed. I aim to be as stress free as possible in a low traffic salon.
I do ask that you do not give your pet sedatives prior to grooming. Calming treats are fine. However sedatives can sometimes make a pet feel not themselves, and ultimately make your pet feel "off" in addition to not liking his grooming can leave your pet with a bad experience.
MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
In the event your pet needs medical attention you will be contacted immediately. If I feel your pet needs emergency medical attention you will be contacted to meet me at the nearest vet (typically Negaunee Veterinary Clinic). I do not cover costs for pre-existing conditions made worse, including but not limited to: pre-existing diseases, sores exposed after mats have been shaved, infections, or any other typical medical conditions either diagnosed prior or conditions your pet had that was made noticeable by grooming.
I have many years of experience and have seen dogs with all sorts of pre-existing conditions. I have experience with heart related conditions, Addisons disease, chronic ear infections, diabetes, epilepsy, torn acls, 3 legged pets, arthritis, and many others.
I will cover any new health conditions caused by grooming. Accidents can happen with sharp objects and moving pets. You will be notified of any scrapes, scratches, cuts or burns. If your pet has something you've noticed once you've arrived home, please contact me immediately to inform me and I will require you seek veterinary care no later than 48 hours after your appointment. You will need a detailed appointment summary signed by your veterinarian with a total amount owed that you can either drop off or text/email a picture. I will pay your vet directly.
